Our Technique

At HOWLYARDS, we use a technique in the creation of our products called splicing. The purpose of splicing is twofold: Firstly, a splice is the strongest method of creating an eye, or loop, in a length of rope. In fact, the use of a knot or clamp can reduce a ropes' strength by half. Secondly, we simply prefer the end result. The slideshow above shows the splicing process putting an eye, in one of our leashes, for the purpose of  attaching hardware, in this case a stainless steel snap shackle , which will easily attach to your dog's collar. The use of this technique, along with the chosen materials, allows us to provide our customers with a lightweight, strong, and stylish product that will turn heads everywhere.
